The
action shifted to Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna and the home side, Patna
Pirates, looked to get their campaign back on track against the in-form team of
Telegu Titans in their first home game of Pro Kabaddi League 2015. The first
half was full of exuberance as the lead changed hands on multiple occasions. After
15 minutes, Patna Pirates lead 9-8 but a super raid from Sukesh Hegde helped
Telegu Titans take the lead back at 9-11. An unsuccessful Ravi Dalal raid put
the score at 9-12 in favour of Telegu Titans. Down to 3 defenders, Rahul
Chaudhari stepped in to make the most of this situation but was successfully
super-tackled to reduce Telegu Titans’
lead to just a point. The first half ended with Telegu Titans having the
psychological lead of 1 point. The moment of the night belonged to Girish Ernak
who successfully pushed 5-star raider, Rahul Chaudhari, off the court for a
solo super-tackle. After 25 minutes, Patna Pirates lead by a point as the score
read 16-15 but this was overturned by a successful 2-point raid from Prashant
Rai. Patna Pirates were never quite able to get back into the game. Multiple
successful raids from Prashant Rai coupled with Telegu Titans’ defense helped
inflict an all-out on Patna Pirates as the score read 19-33 in their favour. The
game ended with Telegu Titans winning 34-22 on the night. Rakesh Kumar was
again a disappointment and looked a shadow of his former self. A combined
effort from Sukesh Hegde and Prashant Rai in attack help their side win and win
comfortably. Now the Telegu Titans sit at number 2 in the Pro Kabaddi League
2015 standings and look on course for a spot in the semi-finals.
